Genyth Poe Baird, 85, of Indianola died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at South Sunflower County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Bailey Hall. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Burton Funeral Home of Indianola. Mrs. Baird was an English teacher and Librarian at Indianola Academy and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Indianola. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry "Bubber" Baird, Jr. Mrs. Baird is survived by her son, William Henry "Bill" Baird, III and his wife Cindy, and their children; Lake (Lorie) Baird and Betsy (Phillip) Dawson of Indianola; daughter Ann Elizabeth Baird Arant and her husband David of Ruleville, and their children; David (Rebekkah) Arant of Brandon; Mary Hunter (Jeremy) Sharp of Vicksburg; Allen (Lindsay) Arant of Savannah, GA; and Celeste Baird Manning and her husband Mark, and their children; Lyle Manning and Calland Manning of Southaven; and six great grandchildren.
