Hiram Morris Allison, Sr., 78, of Moorhead died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at University Medical Center, Jackson. Visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service at Moorhead Methodist Church, with burial following in Indianola City Cemetery, all under the direction of Burton Funeral Home. Mr. Allison was a lifetime resident of Sunflower County and a member of Moorhead Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Moorhead Rotary Club. He farmed and taught Heavy Equipment at Mississippi Delta Community College until his retirement in 2004. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Boykin Allison of Moorhead; one daughter, Clara Allison Bilbo (James) of Madison; one son, Hiram Morris Allison, Jr. (Sheila) of Inverness; and one sister, Myrtle Allison Holloway of Indianola; one grandchild; five step grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
