Alice Shepherd Turner, 66, of Indianola, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Indianola Rehabilitation and Healthcare. She was born in Anguilla, Mississippi, and was the daughter of Jim and Roberta Mitchell Shepherd.

Alice was a strong Christian who loved her Lord. She was a member of Sunflower Baptist Church and a member of WMU. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Billy Joe and Tommy Shepherd; and two sisters, Doris Smith and Fannie Boyles. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Steve Turner and his wife Cheryl of Caile; one daughter, Melanie Lester of Clarksdale; four grandchildren, Haley Lester, Jordan Turner, Fred Borganelli and Brittany Borganelli; a host of nieces and
nephews; and many, many friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 9th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Burton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 10th at 3:00 p.m. at Sunflower Baptist Church with burial following in Hollandale Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
