Anita Roberts Paxton, 60, of Caile, passed away peacefully Monday, September 25, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Anita was born January 20, 1963, in Moorhead, to David and Bonita Mullen Roberts. She was raised in Moorhead and was a graduate of Indianola Academy. Anita married Jim Paxton on November 20, 1982, and together, they made their home in Caile. She worked for Toler Real Estate in Inverness for 16 years prior to her illness, forcing her to retire. Anita was a gifted piano player and played for many churches in the Delta. She loved flowers and gardening. Anita was a member of Inverness Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Roberts.

Anita is survived by her mother, Bonita Roberts of Indianola; her husband of 40 years, Jim Paxton of Caile, two sons, Will Paxton and Justin Paxton both of Caile; and one sister, Angela Dowell (Wade) of Indianola.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Inverness Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Linda Malone and Rev. Richard Wiman officiating. Burial will follow in Caile Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
