Ann Word Beckham McCurdy, 69, of Inverness, Mississippi and Dallas, Texas, died on the evening of Thursday, April 1, 2021.  She was born September 19, 1951, to the late James Lee and Barbara Ann Landwirth Beckham.

Mrs. McCurdy graduated from Inverness High School in 1969 and matriculated at Mississippi College, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics in 1973. She was employed with Community Partners of Dallas, a nonprofit organization working with children in need. Prior to that she worked as a Computer Engineer for over 30 years.

Following her marriage to Joe McCurdy of Glennville, Georgia on November 29, 1981, they made their home in Dallas.  She was an active member of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church, where she was a faithful member and Sunday school teacher for many years. She also volunteered with numerous philanthropies, including the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Joanie Hatcher Trust. Mrs. McCurdy was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed reading and playing piano. She was a caring and active individual who enjoyed being surrounded by family.

In addition to her late husband Joe, she was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Beckham.  She is survived by her daughter Whitney McCurdy Reynolds and grandchildren Wyatt Beckham Reynolds; Caleb Reynolds, Preston Reynolds, and Maddie Reynolds of Inverness, two sisters, Frankie Beckham Hall (Rick) and Barbie Beckham King (Billie Rhea); two brothers, Lee Beckham (Denise) and Will Beckham (Traci); as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church of Inverness on Monday April 5, 2021, at 1 p.m. preceding the 2 p.m. funeral service located in the sanctuary.  Mrs. McCurdy will be interred at Southside Cemetery, located east of Inverness.  Memorial flowers can be sent to the First Baptist Church of Inverness. Donations can also be made to Community Partners of Dallas or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
