Anne Harpole Wall, 92, of Pelham, Alabama and formerly of Inverness, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at her home. She was born August 26, 1924 and was the daughter of Lee Wesley and Minnie Mae Harpole.
Anne was the youngest of the five Harpole sisters from Eupora, and each one taught music and directed their church choir. She was the music teacher at Inverness High School for 30 years until her retirement. She was the choir director at First Baptist Church in Inverness for 25 years. Anne loved music and loved teaching everyone to sing and play the piano. She sang with different ladies' groups, and directed weddings. She was an active member of Shade's Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Whitty Wall; three sisters, Minnie Lee Pryor, Mae Alice Logan, and Inez Crocker. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jann Robinson of Pelham, Alabama, George Wall, and Lee Lyon Robinson, both of Springville, Alabama; sister, Dorothy Gwin Gilliland of Greenville; three grandchildren, Georjann Lee, Anne Keller Diggs and Evelyn Lauren Hines; and six great grandchildren, Madison and Andrew Lee, Morgan Diggs, Ann Rilee Diggs, Lawson Hines, and Bree Ann Hines.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 9:30 am until the 10:30 am funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery, all under the direction of Burton Funeral Home.
