Annie Kate Frazier Burrell of Indianola, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on 29 November, 2015, at the age of 94. She passed away peacefully in her home after an extended illness. She was born August 12, 1921, in Attala County, MS, to Wilbert and Edna Frazier. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Burrell, her parents, four brothers, three sisters, and one son-in-law.
Annie Kate married James Burrell on September 7, 1941, and they resided in Belzoni, Skene, and after retiring, moved to Indianola, in 1976. She was very instrumental in all his ministerial duties because of his blindness. She was a talented seamstress, excellent cook, and devoted mother, and faithfully served the Lord all her life.
Annie Kate is survived by four daughters, Barbara Sims (Billy) of Brandon, MS; Dorothy Barron (Jimmy) of Abbeville, LA; Jimmie Burrell (the late Frank Ornburn) of Marietta, GA; Jill Riddell (Ressie) of Indianola; and one brother, Leroy Frazier (Pat), Shreveport, LA; five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 10:00 am with the funeral service following at 11:00 am at Eastwood Baptist Church, 549 Dorsett Dr., Indianola, MS. Immediately after, burial will be in the Indianola City Cemetery, 801 Main St., Indianola, MS, all under the direction of Burton Funeral Home of Indianola.
The family would like to thank Ms Nora Porter, her faithful, loving caregiver. Thanks also to the ladies, Andrea, Shelly, and Emily, that came from Hospice to care for her.
