Arnold Dale Morris, 83, of Shaw, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 22, 2020, at his home.

Arnold was born January 1, 1937 to Arnold Morris and Johnny Miller Morris. He was the first baby born in 1937 at King's Daughters Hospital in Greenville. Arnold worked for many years as the service manager at Wade, Incorporated in Indianola until his retirement in 2009. Once retired, he enjoyed his life with his wife and family. He was a longtime member and Deacon at Fairview Baptist Church in Indianola.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jewell Woods; and one grandson, Justin Morris.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, LaVera Hendon Morris; son, Dale Morris (Charlye) of Shaw; two daughters, Debi Ingram (Jeff) of Shaw, and Gwen Morris of Sturgis, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Luke Ingram, Denise Wartsbaugh (Charles), Heath Ingram (Monica), and Josh Morris; and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 25, 2020, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Graveside services will follow in Indianola City Cemetery with Rev. John Burke officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church or St. Jude.
