Barbara Anthony Crawford, 84, of Indianola, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, at South Sunflower County Hospital.

Barbara was born March 9, 1939, in Indianola, to Leroy and Bonnie McElroy Anthony. She worked for Eureka Plantation for 49 years and Lakewood Planting Company prior to her retirement. Barbara was a charter member of the Indianola Pilot Club and had held all offices including President. She loved her bunko group and was a member of the Indianola Garden Club. Barbara was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church and was a current member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Indianola. She taught children's Sunday school for 20 years and then adult women's class for 25 years. Barbara directed weddings and created flowers for church for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, showing horses, and going to the beach. Barbara was always doing something for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 69 years, Bobby Adron Crawford; two sons, Bobby Adron "Bob" Crawford, Jr., Eric Van Crawford; and grandson, Riffey Parker.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Teresa Manning (William Harold) and Sheila Parker (John Riffey); two sisters; Pat Lyon (Carlis) of Indianola, and Melanie Roper (William) of La Jolla, California; brother, Jeff Anthony of Indianola; nine grandchildren, Farrell Dowling (Wesley), Carrie Janous (Jay), Will Manning (Ginny), Kimberly Rouse (Kevin), Krislee Chouccoli (Travis), Kasandra Brownlee (Clay), Annie Miller (Matthew), Sydney Grisham (Stephen), and Catherine Crawford; and twenty-two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 10:00 am until 10:30 am, at Sunflower Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 am, with Rev. Veronica Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
