Benjamin Franklin Chandler, Jr., 67, of Batesville and formerly of Indianola, passed away peacefully Friday, March 3, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford with his loving family by his side.
He was born April 21, 1949 in Sumner, and was the son of Benjamin and Jimmie Flemings Chandler. Benjamin was a farmer until his health forced him to retire. He was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with his children. Benjamin also enjoyed drinking coffee, cooking out, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice Elaine Crossland Chandler; one brother, Perry Chandler; and one sister, Jimmie Chandler.
Benjamin leaves to cherish his memory two daughters; Tammy Williams of Batesville and Denise Damore and her husband Shawn of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; three sons, Ronnie Chandler and his wife Brandy of Greenville, MS, Donnie Chandler and his wife Sonia of Shelby, Iowa and Benjamin F. Chandler, III of Batesville, Arkansas; three sisters, Linda Williams of Indianola, Linda Wilson of West Helena, Arkansas and Patsy Raymond of Sunflower; one brother, Terry Crowder of Indianola; Step Mother, Maurice Chandler of West Helena, Arkansas; 20 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 6, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the 3:00 pm funeral service at Burton Funeral Home, 634 Highway 82 West, Indianola, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
