Berry Louie Whitaker, 62, of Indianola, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

He was born February 23, 1962, in Indianola to Nora Alice and Louie Whitaker. Berry, known as "Beudro" to all his friends, had a kind heart when it came to children and others in need. He worked for Modern Line Products and several paint contractors in the Delta area. Berry was a self employed painter for the last 25 years. He enjoyed time spent at deer camp with family and friends and fishing in the Sunflower River.

Berry was predeceased by his mother and father, Nora Alice and Louie Whitaker of New Albany and his sister, Lisa Dawn Murihead of Florence.

He is survived by his brother, Wesley Tharp (Ann) of New Albany and three nephews, James Wesley Tharp III (Ashley) of Gibsonton, Florida, Louie Andrew Bennett (Kara) of Caledonia, and Matthew Zeke Bennett (Tamara) of Brandon.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Tim Howell officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
