Obituary

Bettye Pittman Vincent, 87, of Greenwood, and formerly of Jackson and Indianola, passed away peacefully, October 16, 2017 at Riverview Nursing and Rehab Center in Greenwood.

She was born July 18, 1930 in Indianola and was the daughter of Thomas Dewitt Pittman and Nell Virginia Johnston Pittman. Mrs. Vincent was a homemaker and a volunteer. She volunteered at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital for many years. Mrs. Vincent was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Colonel (Ret.) Samuel M. Vincent; and two sons, Thomas Mark Vincent and Paul Daniel Vincent.

Mrs. Vincent is survived by four children, Samuel Michael Vincent, Jr. of Greenwood, Joy Vincent Minshew and husband Chuck of Keller, Texas, Tami Vincent Moore of Moorhead, and Shane Alexander Vincent and wife Alicia of Richland; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Graveside services will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
