Obituary

Billie Dove Riffey Parker, 85, of Sunflower, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021, at her home.

She was born September 23, 1935 in Senatobia to Darrell Riffey and Meriel Chambers Riffey. Billie Dove was retired after serving as the Mayor of the Town of Sunflower for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Sunflower United Methodist Church and a member of the David Holmes Chapter of the D.A.R.

Billie Dove was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Sidney Parker; daughter Deborah Dove Benvenuto; grandson, John Riffey Parker, Jr.; and daughter in law, Valarie Parker.

She is survived by three children, Dian Parker (David) Ikerd, Franky Parker, and John Riffey (Sheila) Parker; eight grandchildren, Parker Capps, Annie (Matthew) Miller, Sydney (Stephen) Grisham, Price (Alice) Parker, Kathryn Parker, Wilson Capps, Erica Benvenuto, and Jessica (Donal) McGraw; thirteen great grandchildren; and lifetime friend, Louise Christmas.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, January 11, 2021, at Indianola City Cemetery in Indianola with Rev. Veronica Pritchard officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
