Billie Jean Eldridge Wiley, 70, of Shaw, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, after a brief hard battle with cancer.
Billie Jean was born on January 14, 1955, in Indianola to Charles and Laverne Welch Eldridge. She was raised in Inverness and Indianola and was a graduate of Indianola Academy. She married the love of her life, Carl Wiley, and they shared 52 wonderful years of laughter, adventures, and deep devotion. Billie Jean worked for many years as the Credentialing Coordinator for Bolivar Medical Center, where her kindness and diligence touched colleagues and friends alike. She will be remembered as a selfless and giving person. Billie Jean was kind to everyone and always put others first. Her greatest joy was always her family. She also enjoyed going on cruises with her husband and their friends. More than anything, she loved Christmas with her family, especially her grandchildren. Billie Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her gentle spirit and selfless heart inspired everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald "Duck" Eldridge, and sister, Sue Eldridge.
Billie Jean is survived by her beloved husband, Carl Wiley of Shaw; daughter, Denise Wiley Soldevila (Brandon) of Cleveland; son, Jamie Wiley (Bobbi) of Shaw; brother, Charles Eldridge of Indianola; and four grandchildren, Austin Mullins (Kendall), Caleb Mullins, Karlie Grace Wiley, and Parker Wiley and a host of nieces and nephews including her niece Lisa Maloney(Brad) who she cherished like a second daughter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. A second visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, at Burton Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am with Rev. Bob Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
The family extends a heartfelt thanks to Bolivar Medical Center and Delta Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Cleveland for their exceptional care and compassion.
