Bobbie Lee Rodgers Boyd, 86, of Spring, Texas and formerly of Indianola died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at her home. Bobbie was born in Doddsville to Willie C. and Ada L. Gibson Rodgers.

Bobbie was very active in her community, and was a past secretary of the Indianola Garden Club. Also, she was a member of the Indianola Culture Club and Business and Professional Women's Club. She attended the Golden Circle Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, Indianola, where she was a member. Bobbie was employed with the Bank of Ruleville for 13 years, and worked for the Mississippi Department of Corrections Parole Office for 26 years until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Joan Willis and Doris Bowers.

Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 65 years, Gus of Spring, TX; sons, Rod Boyd (Cathy) of Indianola, Mike Boyd of Spring, TX; daughters, Roxie Boyd Ewing (Bill) of Yazoo City, Teresa Boyd Yarbrough (Scott) of Merigold, Kim Boyd Pearce of Indianola; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one special niece Ada Lynn Jordan; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home, Indianola.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Indianola. Burial will follow at Lehrton Cemetery, Ruleville, all under the direction of Burton Funeral Home.
