Bobbie Turner Matthews, 78, of Moorhead, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Indianola Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Indianola.

She was born August 11, 1938 in Decatur, and was the daughter of Lewis and Sarah Breeland Turner. Bobbie worked at Planters Bank as Teller until her retirement. She later worked at Mississippi Delta Community College in the Bookstore. Bobbie was a member of Moorhead Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served as Church Secretary for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Moorhead Garden Club.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Lois Smith, and Helen Richards.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Thomas Wesley Matthews, one daughter, Pam Braddock and her husband Darrell of Bay Springs; one sister, Earlene Ware of Newton; two step daughters, Angie Vasconcellos of Biloxi, and Suann Wall of Austin, Texas; brother in law, George Smith of Decatur; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Harrison, Kristopher Harrison, Lacey Braddock, Austin Braddock, Austin Wall, Courtney Tank, Casey Wall, Nina Tank, Nuno Vasconcellos, Jr.; and seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 17, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Moorhead Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Moorhead Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
