Bobby Gene Chrestman, 82, of Indianola, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Bobby was born January 12, 1935 in Marks and was the son of Dero and Evelyn Higginbotham Chrestman. He always had a passion for cars and motorcycles. He found his true love and sold his Harley Davidson motorcycle to be able to buy a wedding ring for his forever girlfriend, Billie Anthony. They married in 1955 and spent 62 wonderful years together. Ironically, in 1975 he bought his wife a BMW R90S motorcycle for her birthday. Bobby was an ASE Certified Master Mechanic. He worked at Indianola Motor Company as Service Manager for 33 years until his retirement. Bobby was a United States Army Veteran and served as tank commander with the Mississippi Army National Guard in Indianola. He was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon since 2002. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth Paul Chrestman.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Billie Anthony Chrestman of Indianola; one son, Dirk Chrestman and his wife Debbie of Wesson; one daughter, Debbie Mohamed and her husband Sam of Hammond, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Chip Mohamed, Heather Mohamed, Brittany Mohamed, Kyle Chrestman, and Kody Chrestman; and seven great grandchildren, Loreli Mohamed, Mason Mohamed, Drake Mohamed, Sydney Fletcher, Karly Shivers, Bryce Shivers, and Brody Shivers.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 20, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm memorial service at Eastwood Baptist Church, 549 Dorsett Drive, Indianola, Mississippi. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
