Bobby Joel Dempsey lost his battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord December 9th at 7:30 pm.  He was a lifelong resident of Indianola, Mississippi and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was the youngest of seven siblings born to the late Homer and Corrie Dempsey of Indianola. He was preceded in death by his brother David Dempsey, his sisters Carolyn McIntyre, Nelda Dempsey and Linda Hunt. He will forever be remembered and loved by his devoted sisters Shirley Stephens, Ernestine Summerford and a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends whom were blessed to have known him.

Joel truly enjoyed people and making new friends. He touched the lives of many with his genuine smile, inquisitiveness, love of music, cars, animals and the passion for speaking with everybody. Joel never met a stranger! We will all miss the sunshine that his special spirit brought into our lives.

Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral service being held Sunday December 13th at Burton Funeral Home located in Indianola, Ms at 2:00 pm.
