Brenda Cardinell Derosier, 74, of Belzoni, died Monday, January 23, 2017 at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.

Mrs. Derosier was born July 31, 1942, in Isola, and was the daughter of M. J. and Hazel Bearden Cardinell.  She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Belzoni.  She was retired after working 7 years for the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services as a receptionist, and 18 years as a 911 dispatcher for Belzoni Police Department.

Mrs. Derosier was preceded in death by her father, M. J. Cardinell, and her husband, Robert Derosier.  She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Hazel Bearden Cardinell of Belzoni; two daughters, Marsha Harrison and her husband David of Belzoni and Cassondra Glausier and her husband Jay of Bossier City, Louisiana; sister, Jerri Crum and her husband Buster of Belzoni; brother, Michael Cardinell and his wife Yvonne of Greenville; and grandchild, Kelsey Blaine Harrison.

The family will receive friends at a visitation Wednesday, January 25th from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.  A second visitation will be Thursday, January 26th from 10:00 until the 11:00 funeral service, all at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Burial will follow in Greencrest Cemetery in Belzoni.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Burton Funeral Home of Indianola.
