Cassandra Joyce Read, 75, of Indianola, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Delta Health Medical Center in Greenville.

Cassandra was born on October 13, 1950, in Indianola, to Kerry and Arvah Read. She was a United States Navy Veteran who earned her RN degree while in service. Cassandra worked as an Operating Room Nurse in Oregon and at Baptist Hospital in Memphis for many years. She enjoyed reading and watching movies in her free time.

Cassandra was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William "Billy" Read.

She is survived by her sister, Libby Edwards (Jim) of Indianola, her brother, John Michael Read (Kris) of Horn Lake; and a host of nieces and nephews, including Mandy McCarty, Angel Anderson, Jennifer Morgan, Michael Read, Donna Embry, Stanley Embry, Dawn Embry, and Derrick Reed.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude.
