Charles Edward Williams, 84, of Indianola, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at Azalea Commons in Cleveland.

Charles was born February 18, 1940, in Sunflower County, to Eunice Harrison and Albert Williams. He attended Indianola Public Schools where he made many life-long friends.  Charles was a proud member of the IHS Class of '59. He was a member of Christ Methodist Church, served on various committees and was an usher for many years. Charles worked as a gin manager for Planters Gin and later Indianola Gin for 50 years before his retirement. He was always available for anyone that needed him. Charles enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed going hunting but mostly for the camaraderie with his friends. Charles also enjoyed hosting rabbit and dove hunts but once again, it was never about the hunt, just about spending time with his friends. He loved boating and spending time at Lake Washington. Charles formerly served as president of Cypress Bend Hunting Club. He loved his family. His children and grandchildren were the most important things in his life.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Albert Williams; daughter, Mia Williams; son, Paul Williams; and his sister, Polly Lewis.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances Williams of Indianola; daughter, Cathe Lott and husband Drew of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Justin, Treis, Anna, Anna Carolyn, Josh, and Libba; and nine great-grandchildren, Christian, TJ, Aiden, Jewel, Merianne, Sawyer, Harrison, Hudson, and Neale.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Wright Miller Cemetery in Caile.  Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
