Claude Kent Johnson Jr, 66, of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at his home in Indianola.

Kent was born March 28, 1955 in Indianola to Claude Kent and Janie Brown Johnson. He graduated from Indianola Academy and attended college at Mississippi Delta Junior College and the University of Southern MS where he studied Vocal Music Performance.

Although his profession was truck driver, he was also a musician, singer, actor, and artist. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Indianola and enjoyed singing in the choir.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Janie Johnson, and his wife Mary Lou Brownlee. He is survived by one brother, Ricky Lee Johnson of New Albany, formerly of Indianola.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in Indianola with Rev. Trey Skaggs officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude's Hospital. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
