Connie Roberts Paxton, 78, of Inverness, passed away Monday, November 2, 2026, at her home.

Connie was born November 24, 1947, in Humphreys County to Eugene and Elma Jefcoat Roberts. She graduated from Humphreys County High School. After high school, Connie married Bobby Paxton, and they settled in Inverness. She worked as a secretary at Central Delta Academy and Bell Incorporated for many years before retiring. She enjoyed word puzzles and reading. She and Bobby enjoyed going on trips with their friends to car and tractor shows. She enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything, especially her brothers and sisters. Her congealed salad was a sought-after favorite at family functions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bobby Paxton, five brothers, and one sister.

Connie is survived by her son, Lee Paxton (Mericlare) of Inverness; her daughter, Rhonda Jackson (Scott) of Isola; her brother, Walter Roberts of Kentucky; three sisters, her twin sister, Bonnie Brown (Donnie) of Laurel, Carolyn Kent of Clinton, and Mona Wise of Bogue Chitto; five grandchildren, Kelsey Swindle (Ryan), Allee Paxton, Presley Scott Baham (Will), Lane Clare Paxton, and John Reece Jackson; and two great-grandsons, Jax Carter Swindle and Kacen Swindle.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 6, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Inverness. Graveside services will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Brown officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
