Deirdre Deniss "Dee Dee" Kirksey Melton, 58, of Pangburn, Arkansas, and formerly of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at her home.

Dee Dee was born July 26, 1963, in Shaw, Mississippi, to Clarence Clayton Kirksey, Sr. and Mary Juanice "Niecie" King Kirksey. She worked for many years as a cosmetologist and later worked in retail management. Dee Dee enjoyed being in the boat on the lake, shopping, bling, cooking, and going to flea markets. She was very caring and always put others wants and needs before her own. Dee Dee was the life of the party in any situation and was always the peacemaker of the family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Dee Dee adored her family especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Everette and Myrtis King; maternal grandparents, Johnny Robert and Callie Frances Kirksey; and sister, Sherrie Renee Kirksey.

Dee Dee is survived by her husband, Allen Melton of Pangburn, Arkansas; parents, Clarence and Niecie Kirksey of Indianola, son, Justin Allen Melton; daughter, Tabatha (Brandon) Rackley both of Pangburn, Arkansas; brother, Clay (Linda) Kirksey of Indianola; sister, Terrie Kirksey of Arlington, Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Leona, Scarlette, Stella, Remington, and Weston.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with burial to follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
