Diane Allison Britt, 77, of Indianola, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson.
Diane was born January 17, 1942, in Memphis to Samuel Martin Allison and Ruth Ann Doddridge Allison. She was a receptionist for Hull Brothers Clinic in Indianola for many years until her retirement. Diane attended Mississippi State College for Women and graduated from Mississippi State University. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the 20 th Century Club. Diane was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Indianola where she served as church organist for 25 years and was a member of the Women of the Church. She enjoyed music and taught piano lessons part time. Diane enjoyed her cattle, flowers, cooking, sewing, but most of all she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Edia Allison Britt; and one sister, Patricia Allison Madden.
Diane is survived by her husband, AE Boyer Britt, Jr. of Indianola; one son, AE Boyer Britt, III and his wife Cherrie Lynn of Indianola; two brothers, Marty Allison and his wife Mary of Sarah, Mississippi, James Allison and his wife Judy of Sarah, Mississippi; two sisters, Joyce Randall of Birmingham, Alabama, Ellen Anderson and her husband Bill of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Cody Britt and his wife Allison of Indianola, Anna Bailey Britt of Ridgeland, Mississippi; and one great grandchild, Lucy Parker Britt of Indianola.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 6, 2019, from 9:30 am until the 11:00 am funeral service at First Presbyterian Church in Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.burtonfuneralhome.net
