Donald Lee Cave, 85, of Indianola died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at his home. Mr. Cave was born February 23, 1930 in Sunflower, Mississippi and was the son of Roscoe and Maggie Sue McLean Cave. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and served in the Mississippi Army National Guard until his retirement. He also worked as a stock receiver for Lewis Grocer Company for 30 years. Mr. Cave was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #2, VFW Post # 4731, lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Belzoni, a member of Scottish Rite in Clarksdale, and was a member of the Wahabi Shrine in Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Cave; and sister, Mildred Cave Martin. Mr. Cave leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Janet Erwin Cave; son, Donald Lee Cave, Jr. and wife, Christie; two daughters, Janice Lea Cave Leach of Indianola and Beverly Cave Caldwell and husband Jerry of Indianola; two brothers, Walter Cave and Howard Cave both of Memphis, TN; three sisters, JoAnn Freeman and Clarice Jarrett both of Memphis, TN and Rebecca Hollobaugh of Bradington, FL; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Christ United Methodist Church in Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
