Doris Mitchell Donahoe, 86, of Doddsville, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.

She was born December 8, 1930, and was the daughter of Clarence and Bertha Barrett Mitchell. Doris was a resident of the Roundaway Community since 1942. Doris will be especially remembered for her love and encouragement to others and her devotion to her Savior. She was very active in Roundaway Baptist Church where she taught Childrens' Sunday School, served as Prayer Coordinator, Church Clerk, and loved singing in the choir.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlton Ellis Donahoe; her daughter, Carla Donahoe Braswell; three brothers, Harold Mitchell, Aubrey Mitchell and Clyde Mitchell; and three sisters, Lois Floyd, Virginia Kirk, and Nadine Howard.

She is survived by her son Mike Donahoe and his wife Pat of Milton, Florida; daughter, Jill Blount and her husband Jimmy of Louisville, Kentucky; son-in-law, Wayne Braswell of Lexington, Kentucky; brother, Jack Mitchell, sister, Inez Bailey; seven grandchildren, Jared Braswell, Cathy Braswell Potter, Stephen Braswell, Lisa Braswell, Jonathan Blount, Lizzy Blount, and David Roland; and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 3, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Roundaway Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Roundaway Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
