Dorothy Parker DuBose, 91, of Indianola died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at her home. Ms. DuBose, affectionately known as Dottie, was born September 12, 1924 in Munson, Alabama to Samuel Wheeler Parker and Charles Edward Simmons Parker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Twentieth Century Club, and Tuesday Duplicate Bridge Group. Ms. DuBose was a former Elder at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Pensacola, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Irvin DuBose, Jr.; brother, Billie Parker; and son-in-law, Scott Shafer. Ms. DuBose is survived by her son, Edward Irvin DuBose, III and his wife Jeannie of McNeil, Arkansas; daughter, Emily DuBose Shafer of Indianola; and one grandson, Aaron Edward DuBose. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 86, Indianola, MS 38751; United Ministries, 257 Lee Street, Pensacola, FL 32503; or Delta Missions, 410 Johnson Avenue, Indianola, MS 38751. The family will receive friends Monday, June 6, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 2:45 pm in the Schwartz Ward Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church in Indianola. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements. Family burial will take place in Hebron Cemetery in Oswego, SC.
