Douglas Donahue "Donnie" Kirk, 72, of Doddsville, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville.

Donnie was born September 20, 1946 in Opp, Alabama to Willard Douglas Kirk and Earline Clark Kirk. He was a United States Air Force veteran. Donnie earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Mississippi State University and an ABD PhD in Economics from Rice University.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. W. D. Kirk.

Donnie is survived by his mother, Earline Kirk of Doddsville; two daughters, Rachel Anderson and her husband Bill of Novasota, Texas, and Rebecka Hakel of Katy, Texas; and three grandchildren, Travis Anderson, Collin Anderson, and Vera Hakel.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Roundaway Cemetery in Doddsville. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Roundaway Baptist Church, 776 Steiner Rd, Doddsville, MS 38736.
