Douglas McArthur Roberts, 81, of Moorhead, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Indianola Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Doug was born February 26, 1942, in Berclair, to Roscoe and Rittie Mae Roberts. His lifelong career was farming. He loved the land and spent many hours working on his family's farm. Farming was in his blood, and he wouldn't have been happy doing anything else. Doug was known for his sense of humor. He never met a stranger. If he didn't know you when you got there, you would surely know him when you left. You couldn't help but like Doug. He was a true friend to all. Doug treasured his family and made special memories with each of them, especially his grandchildren. He took pride and joy in all four of them.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Rittie Mae Roberts and four brothers, Roscoe Roberts, Jr., Charlie Roberts, Edward Roberts, and David Roberts.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gloria Jean Denley Roberts of Moorhead; two daughters, Tracy Keeton (Donald) of Moorhead and Gwen Wade (Joe) of Bruce; four grandchildren, Hardy Wade, Lauren Wade Skyles, Codi Watson Dempsey, and Paige Watson; and two great grandsons, Colson Wade and Haden Skyles.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Moorhead Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Craig McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Moorhead Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
