Edward Elaine Gullett, 88, of Inverness passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Mississippi State Veterans Nursing Home in Oxford with his loving family by his side. Mr. Gullett was born May 30, 1926 in Webster County. He was the son of William Lester Gullett and Flora Edna Johnson Gullett. Mr. Gullett worked as a parts salesman at John Deere until his retirement. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Henry Elliott Gullett; and sister, Katherine Carl Buxbaum.
Mr. Gullett, known affectionately as Ham, leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Josephine Vickers Gullett; daughter, Elaine Clark and husband Buster of Oxford; three sons, Johnny Gullett and wife Tina of Belzoni, Ricky Gullett and wife Janice of Brandon, and Joe Gullett and wife Janice of Tyler, Texas; sister, Sue Gullett Fitts of Greenville; twelve grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery with Rev. Robert Ragland officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Gullett's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
