Electra "Punkin"
Thomas
Aug 20, 1975 — Mar 21, 2026
Indianola
Electra "Punkin" Machelle Thomas, 50, of Indianola, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Yazoo City.
Punkin was born August 20, 1975, in Clarksdale, MS, to Danny Kaye Thomas and Shelby Moorman Ulrey. She was a woman of strong faith, deeply prayer-driven, and she exemplified God's love in all she did. Larger than life, Punkin embraced everything with sparkle. She was unapologetically herself and inspired others to be the same way. Her positivity, kindness, and loyalty made her the greatest cheerleader for her friends, family, students, and everyone she met. Always smiling, she will be remembered for her beautiful voice. Punkin loved her family dearly, especially her daughter, and nothing gave her more joy than being "Glam" to her grandson, Ellis. She also cherished her great-nephews and great-niece, eagerly attending their ball games and celebrating their successes.
She was preceded in death by her father, Danny K. Thomas; her mother-in-law, Brenda "Bim" Loveless; her nephew, Patrick Adams; and her cousin, Russell Thomas.
Punkin is survived by her mother, Shelby Ulrey of Cleveland; her beloved daughter, Kaitlyn Watson (Dylan) of West Palm Beach, FL; and her grandson, Ellis Watson. She is also survived by two brothers: Johnny Pitts (Regina) of Cleveland and their daughters, Madison and Reagan; and Dan Robert Thomas of San Diego, CA. Punkin's three sisters are Lou Adams (Darry) of Indianola and their daughters Ann Shelby (Brannon) Walls and their children Beckham, Greer, Merrick, and Luci Walls and Hali "Bug" Adams; Rita Pitts of Ruleville; and Ramona Thomas and her daughter KatyLynn Joyner, both of Houston. Other survivors include her father-in-law, Al Loveless of Iuka, her stepmother, Lalene Boyce, and a special cousin, Lori Harrington of Houston.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 12 noon at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at noon. Burial for the family and her closest friends will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with the arrangements.
