Elizabeth Irene Wells Kisner, 86, of Indianola, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Indianola Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, after a battle with cancer.

Irene was born December 12, 1933, in Elizabeth, Mississippi, to Coy and Lillian Walton Wells. She married Joe Harold "Buddy" Kisner on February 7, 1953, and together, they made their home in Indianola. Irene was a homemaker and worked several years selling Tupperware. She loved having carport sales, doing resale, and enjoyed watching western movies. Irene taught Sunday School for many years at Second Baptist Church prior to joining Eastwood Baptist Church, and was a Girl Scout leader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Coy Wells and Lillian Wells Warren; stepfather, J.E. Warren; daughter, Tena Kisner Walters; granddaughter, Kim Walters; and four brothers.

Irene is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joe "Buddy" Kisner of Indianola; daughter, Wanda Kay Kisner Massey and her husband Jim of Indianola; son, Robert Dale Kisner and his wife Christie of Baird; two sisters, Margaret Ann Criswell and her husband Steve of Jackson, and Betty Sue Ratliff of Brandon; six grandchildren, Johnny Massey, Will Massey, April Walters Branson, Matt Kisner, Taylor Kisner, and Reagan Kisner; and three great grandchildren, Jules Massey, Christian Branson, and Brooklyn Branson.

Graveside services will be held Monday, April 6, 2020 in Indianola City Cemetery. Rev. Ron Burch will officiate. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
