Dorothy Eloise Stewart Dupuy, affectionately known as Wesie, 83, of Inverness, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022, at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.

Wesie was born January 30, 1939, in Isola, to Ike and Bessie Stewart. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years and finished her career with Bell Incorporated,  retiring after over 15 years. Wesie was a woman of deep faith and was a devoted member of Inverness United Methodist Church. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved playing practical jokes. Wesie loved people and could warm a room with her smile. She was very creative and talented at cross stitching. Although she and Carol never had children of their own, she had many children that she became connected to through Carol's work at Central Delta Academy that she loved as her own.

Wesie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Carol Dupuy; three sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by two sisters, Patricia Stewart of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Donnie Stewart of Grove, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews; and a community that dearly loved her.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Inverness United Methodist Church in Inverness with Rev. Linda Malone officiating. The visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service at Inverness United Methodist Church. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
