Erlene Renfroe Massey, 90, of Indianola, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Walter B. Crook in Ruleville.

Erlene was born March 29, 1936, in Greenville, to Robert and Eunice Clemmons Renfroe.  She was a homemaker and devoted her time to her family. Erlene enjoyed sewing, crafts, number search puzzles, watching westerns, and reading her Bible. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Indianola.

Erlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James A. Massey; daughter, Angela Dill; twin sister, Arlene Everett; and two brothers, Earnest Renfroe and Claude Renfroe; and son-in-law, Jeff Sharp.

She is survived by her three children, Jimmy Massey (Wanda), Samantha Sharp, and Curtis Massey (Angela); son in law, Jimmy Dill; brother, Bobby Renfroe (Sandra); seven grandchildren, Johnny Massey (Kristen), Will Massey, Jacob Dill (Lottie), Jennifer Hollis (Brian), Riley Massey, Johnathan Holloway (Jennifer), and Kathrine Boykin (Wesley); and nine great grandchildren, Jewels Massey, Tucker Dill, Brian Hollis Jr., Anne Marie Hollis, Logan Hollis, Kaitlin Boykin, Cady Jones, Hollie Jones, Hadleigh Sue Massey; and one great great grandchild, Paisley Mae Ferguson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Graveside funeral services will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
