Estel Alexander Allen, 73, of Indianola, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at South Sunflower County Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Estel was born September 9, 1951, in Holly Ridge, to OD and Bonnie Jean Allen. He worked as a self-employed diesel mechanic. Estel was a devoted family man. He loved his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Estel was a character and no matter what people said to him, he had a funny comeback. He never met a stranger. Estel was a hard worker and was dedicated to his customers. He was known as the white Fred Sanford. He enjoyed deer hunting, NASCAR racing, and dirt track racing. Most of his family referred to him lovingly as "Uncle E".

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Wayman Allen, Bill Allen, and Glenn Allen.

Estel is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sarah Roncali Allen of Indianola; daughter, Tracie Stevens (Pat) of Moorhead; son, Olen Allen (Tammy) of Indianola; two brothers, Gary Allen (Nola) of Sibley, Iowa and Donnie Allen (Joyce) of Indianola; three sisters, Wanda Allen (Dani) of Victoria, Australia, Linda Allen and Brenda Allen both of Indianola; three grandchildren, Payeton Balducci (Charles), Amber Kirsten Allen, and John Wesley Allen; and two great-grandchildren, Charlie Steed and Mayzie Austin Balducci.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Pete Roncali officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola Memorial Gardens. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
