Frances Nelms Sharp, 81, of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson.

Frances was born December 28, 1938, in Isola to Cecil and Pauline Donald Nelms. She worked for many years as an office manager and bookkeeper. Frances was a very devoted and active member of Eastwood Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for about 30 years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and entertaining. Frances loved her family and really doted on her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Pauline Nelms, and her brother, Cecil Nelms.

Frances is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Sharp of Indianola; son, Rusty Sharp and wife Debbie of Benton, Arkansas; two daughters, Sissy Bridges and husband Ray of Indianola, and Ann Sharp and husband Jimmy Howard of Toccoa, Georgia; three grandchildren, Russ Roden and wife Jennifer, Gina Sharp, and Peyton Sharp; two great grandchildren, William Roden and Sam Roden; and sister, Jo Mathews of Northport, Alabama.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 13, 2020 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Eastwood Baptist Church in Indianola. Rev. Ray Bridges and Rev. Ron Burch will officiate. A private family burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital.
