Frances "Frankie" Shaw Aycock, 84, of Inverness, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.
Frankie was born on March 23, 1941, in Potts Camp, to William Herman Shaw and Cornelia Josephine Gurley Shaw. She married Norman Aycock on June 25, 1961, and together they made their home in Inverness. Frankie was a hairdresser in Indianola for 30 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Inverness, where she sang in the choir for many years and taught Sunday School. Frankie was initiated into the Order of the Eastern Star on February 15, 1966. She faithfully served our Grand Chapter for almost 60 years. She served as Worthy Grand Matron with Charles Davis, Worthy Grand Patron, during the 2002 - 2003 Bridge of Love Session. She served for many years as a District Deputy Grand Matron, even after becoming a Past Grand Matron. She was currently a member of Yazoo Chapter No. 44, Yazoo City, Mississippi.
. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was soon to be a great-great-grandmother.
Frankie was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Daniel Herman Shaw, Benjamin William Shaw, Fred Alton Shaw, and Robert Lewis Shaw; and nephew, Bobby Shaw.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Norman Aycock; three sons, Michael Downs Aycock (Gena), Mark Douglas Aycock (Traci), and Norman Keith Aycock; one daughter, Teresa Ann Cauley (Johnny); sister-in-law, Nell Means; niece, Stacy Shaw; two nephews, Alton Shaw, and Cardis Sparks; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, with two more great grandchildren on the way and 1 great-great grandchild on the way.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at First Baptist Church in Inverness. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 am with Rev. Greg Hood officiating. The burial will follow in Caile Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
