Obituary

Nancy Gail Fletcher Wade, 72, of Benton, Arkansas, and formerly of Indianola, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

She was born September 26, 1949, in Cleveland, to Palmer Doyle Fletcher and Alice Berry Fletcher. She was raised in Cleveland and Inverness. Gail was a graduate of Belzoni High School and attended Business College in Jackson. She married William Michael "Mickey" Wade in 1969, and together they made their home in Indianola. Gail worked at Planters Bank in Indianola for over 30 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, gardening, reading her Bible, doing Bible study, shopping, and spending time with family.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Mickey Wade; son, William Joshua Wade; and sister, Cindy Fletcher.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Wade and husband Wayne Willis; granddaughter, Olivia Grace Atkinson; sister, Judy Rowland (Grady) of Tyler, Texas; brother, Steve Fletcher (Sharon) of Hohenwald, Tennessee; four sister-in-laws, Anne Boone (Dwight) of Isola, Kaye Odom (Terry) of Yazoo City, Donna Harper (Jimmy) of Indianola, and Elaine Galatas (Roland) of Indianola; brother-in-law, Joe Wade (Gwen) of Bruce; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. John Burke officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
