Gerald "Jerry" Leslie Jones, 77, of Indianola, passed away peacefully Monday, December 5, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Gerald was born June 1, 1945, in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, to Leslie Ernest and Vercy Mae Brooks Jones. He joined the US Army after high school and was a Vietnam War Veteran. Captain Jones came to Indianola in 1963, as a lineman, pilot, and owner operator of Valley Air Applicators and served over 59 years. Gerald loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was always doing something because he couldn't sit still. Gerald was a great man and touched everyone he met in some way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jackie Lee Jones; and one great granddaughter, Alexis Munns.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Patsy Hodges Jones of Indianola; four children, Gary (Elsie) Jones, Kristina (Marty) Croslin, Chip (Kris) Dunlap, and Steven (Terri) Dunlap; three brothers, Ronald Gary Jones, John Phillip Jones, and Joseph Patrick Jones; ten grandchildren, Katie (Codey) Munns, Corinna Jones, Kayli Jo Nick, Skylar Nick, Hailey Dunlap, Colton Dunlap, Reuben Saunders, Allie (Curt) Hogue, Katie (Corey) Anderson, Karlie (Kenny) Ashmore; and six great grandchildren, Jayden Munns, Aleah Munns, Cordale Munns, Noah Hogue, Maylie Anderson, and Maycie Anderson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Valley Air Terminal at the Indianola Airport. The funeral service will begin at Valley Air Terminal at 1:00 pm with Rev. Joe Young officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
