Gordon Dale Mitchell, 72, of Doddsville, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020, at Merit Health Central in Jackson. Gordon was born April 27, 1947 to Tom Byrd Mitchell and Flora Lee Holmes Mitchell. He was of Baptist faith. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Thomas Allen Mitchell, Robert Stanley Mitchell, James Mitchell, and Linn Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Doris Earls Mitchell of Doddsville; son, Kevin Dale Mitchell of Madison; two brothers, Jerry Mitchell and his wife Carylon of Indianola, and Julian "Shine" Mitchell and his wife Mary Ann of Gulfport; and two grandchildren, MaryDale Mitchell and Cooper Mitchell.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 22, 2020, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Graveside services will follow in Linn Baptist Church Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
