Hallie Love Young Luster, 85, of Belzoni, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at Delta Health The Medical Center in Greenville.
Hallie Love was born July 6, 1936, in Greenwood, to Ross Ward Young and Hallie Reed Young. She worked many years as the office manager at Farmers Home Administration. Hallie Love was a people person and an avid animal lover. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belzoni, where she taught Sunday School and taught many decades of children. She was known for teaching them the song Jesus Loves Me while playing the piano and singing with them. Hallie Love spent many hours working in her yard and growing flowers. She enjoyed baking and will forever be remembered for her tidbits and pound cakes. Hallie Love adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and cherished every minute she got to spend with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Callie Lynn Pate.
Hallie Love is survived by her three adoring children, Linda Love Brasier of Houston, Texas, Gene Ward Luster of Belzoni, and Stacy Lynn Fikes (William) of Purvis; one sister, Lahlete Young Pearson of Belzoni; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Belzoni Cemetery with Rev. Howard Tucker and Rev. Richard Wiman officiating. Burton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Belzoni Cemetery Association, 506 Sharkey St., Belzoni, MS 39038, or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
