Harold Douglas Johnson, 71, of Colt, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Hospice of Texarkana Inpatient Center in Texarkana, Texas.
Harold was born on February 25, 1955, in Inverness to Walter and Pearl Phillips Johnson. He was a member of the Shriners Club. He worked as a meat market manager for the majority of his career. In the last few years, he enjoyed working and helping run a plant nursery. Harold loved his family and was a loving father and papa; they were everything to him, especially his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He was very proud of all of them. Harold was a hard worker; he loved being outside, either grilling or fishing. He loved music and sang in a band in his younger years.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Pearl Johnson.
He is survived by his life companion, Debbie Heath of Colt, AR; son, Harold Douglas "Doug" Johnson, Jr. (LeeLee) of Duck Hill; two daughters, Elizabeth Ashley Johnson of Texarkana, AR and Stephanie Hernandez (Eric) of Colt, AR; two brothers, Michael Johnson (Beth) of Church Point, LA; and Keith Johnson of Inverness; sister, Carolyn Buchanan (John) of Victoria, TX; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm at Southside Cemetery in Inverness. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
