Henry Leon Keith, Jr., 76, of Inverness, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021, at Allegiance Specialty Hospital in Greenville.

Leon was born January 21, 1945, in Sunflower County, Mississippi, to Henry Leon Keith, Sr. and Susie Mae Roberson Keith. Leon was raised in Booger Den.  He married the love of his life, Alice Faye Roberson, in 1964, and they lived all over the Delta while he worked in the cotton gin industry. Leon retired after many years of managing Berkley Gin in Chatham. After retirement, he and Faye moved back to Inverness. Leon was a member of the Mississippi Ginners Association and was a member of Morgan City Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. Leon enjoyed spending time with his family and sitting on his porch. He enjoyed researching his genealogy. Most of all, Leon will be remembered for his kind and giving nature and his love of joking around with everyone he liked.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved daughter, Angelia Keith Yates; and his siblings, Sonny Wilson, Joe Boy Wilson, Melza Wilson, Billy Wilson, Nettie Mae Ingram, Mary Sue Wilson, Lorine Muncher, and Barbara Lee Keith.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Alice Faye Roberson Keith of Inverness; son, Tony Keith of Inverness; brother, Frank Keith of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Katie Yates McElwrath, April Yates Baldwin, Benton Keith Yates, Keith Duke, and Savannah Duke; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Linn Methodist Church Cemetery in Shaw. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
