It is with heavy hearts that the family of Imogene "Jean" (Mosley) Watson announces her peaceful passing on January 22, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on July 27, 1932 to Allen and Catherine Mosley, she was a native to Washington county and a longtime resident of the Mississippi Delta, Jean lived in Indianola, Mississippi. She grew up deeply rooted in the faith, family, and traditions of the Baptist community.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially working in her yard and spending time with her beloved family. She was a proud member of Eastwood Baptist Church, where she faithfully worshiped and served her community.

Jean had a long fulfilling career with Maxwell Cotton Company in Inverness, Mississippi, where her dedication and strong work ethic left a lasting impression. She was also known for her warm hospitality and exceptional cooking, sharing countless meals that brought family and friends together.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Clifford Watson Sr.; her parents Allen and Catherine Mosley; her siblings Clyde Mosley, Dorethea Burchfield, Allen Wayne Mosley, Joe Mosley, Mary Lee Alkire; her son, Robert Roden; and her grandsons, Jonathan Brett Watson and Andrew Roden.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Allen (Linda) Roden; Harvey Clifford Watson Jr. and her sister; Ruth Mosley Thompson; her grandchildren, Russ Roden (Jennifer), Melissa R Hearn (Andrew), Joshua Dylan Watson, Isabella Dennis, Ramey Kent (Amber), Morgan Stokes (Trey), Jeremy Ferris, Xan Haven; Blake Roden (Sarah), Anne Carol Jones (Ian); and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

A celebration of Jean's life will be held at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola, Mississippi, on Saturday, January 25, 2025 with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and the service following at 11:00 am.

Graveside services will follow at the Indianola City Cemetery. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring Jean's incredible legacy of love, faith, and devotion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association in honor of Jean's courageous battle with dementia, reflecting her family's hope to support others facing the same challenge.
