Irwin Dendell "Tinker" Hawkins, 69, of Moorhead, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at his home.

Tinker was born October 19, 1956, in Dermott, Arkansas, to Carl and Wilma Pierce Hawkins. He worked as an automotive painter and mechanic for many years.Tinker owned his personal shop at his home where he helped many families with their vehicles. Tinker was a hard-working family man and was a loving father. He loved spending time with his friends and family and going to church. He was a member of God's Harvest Church of God in Indianola.

Tinker was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Kathleen Strosinski, Shirley Showah, Josephine Boyd, and Faye Wade; and two brothers, Kenneth Hawkins and Dennis Hawkins.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Margaret Farish Hawkins of Moorhead; three sons, Ashley Hawkins (Ashley) of Hollandale, Joshua Hawkins of Moorhead, and Caleb Hawkins of Moorhead; two daughters, Tiffany Randolph of St. Mary's, Georgia and Dawn Hawkins Creel (James Jr.) of Greenwood;  six grandchildren, Jordan, Ryan Taylor, Kristen, Tyler, Maddie, and Tristan; and four great grandchildren, Corbin, Easton, Sterling, and Ivy.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Tim Howell and Rev. John Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Moorhead Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
