Jacob Taylor Whatley, 19, of Ruleville, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Jake was born January 31, 2003, in Cleveland, to Jim and Ashlie Kimbriel Whatley. He was raised in Ruleville and attended North Sunflower Academy. Jake worked for years with his dad at Whatley Roofing. He loved fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors. Jake adored his baby girl, nieces, and nephews, and the rest of his family. He loved "fixin' cars" and riding in the country with Nicole. Jake was very outgoing and would do anything for his family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mike and Brenda Kimbriel; paternal grandmother, Jimmie Whatley; and niece, Alex Kate Thompson.

Jake is survived by his parents, Jim and Ashlie Whatley of Ruleville; daughter, Adelynn Dawn Whatley of Ruleville; paternal grandfather, Marvin Whatley, Jr. of Ruleville, maternal great grandmother, Aythel Kimbriel of Indianola; three sisters, Mary Katelynn (Thomas) Thompson of Ruleville, Jimmie Whatley (Josh Jennings) of Greenville, and Amber Whatley of Ruleville; girlfriend, Nicole Winstead of Acona; two uncles, Chris Kimbriel and Billy (Jackie) Whatley; three aunts, Choosey Whatley, Charlotte Whatley, and Sandy Whatley; three nephews, Tucker Sbravati, Weston Thompson, and Jaxon Whatley; and two nieces, Kamryn Sbravati and Jessie Claire Jennings.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 11, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
