James Calvin "Cal" Hodges, III, 61, of Indianola, passed away July 17, 2016 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Cal was born in Indianola. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Greenville.
Cal was a phenomenal freelance photographer and he loved it! In his words, "back in 1985 I started this wonderful journey of photography and the thrill has never gone." His works are displayed all over the Delta. Cal was known for his landscape photography and portraits. He loved taking black and white photos and turning them into beautiful oil paintings. He owned Cal Hodges Photography in Indianola and also worked as a disc jockey at WNLA for years. He loved gardening and his jeep!
Cal was well loved in the community. He was a devoted husband and father, and loved his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, J.C. and Daphne Hodges of Nashville, Tennessee and formerly of Indianola; wife, Debbie Jackson of Indianola; daughters, Michelle Hodges Brand and husband Joseph and his son Ethan of Tucker, Georgia and Mary Hodges of Parma, Ohio; brother, Bob Hodges and wife Laura of Nashville, Tennessee; stepsons, Sean Jackson and Daniel Jackson both of Indianola; stepdaughter, Crystal Light and her children Chloe and Savannah Phelps of Warren, Arkansas.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 10:00 am at Indianola City Cemetery. Immediately following the graveside service, the family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 12:00 noon at Burton Funeral Home, Indianola. Burton Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
