James Edward Ivy, 75, of Belzoni passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his home.

James was born November 27, 1941 in Durant, and was the son of Allen and Mary Yeager Ivy. He was a master mechanic and he owned and operated James Repair & Wrecker Service in Belzoni for over 39 years until his retirement. James was a United States Army National Guard Veteran and was a member of First Baptist Church of Belzoni. He was a very hardworking and loving man, he had hard hands but a very soft heart. James loved his family and his country.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Allen Ivy.

James leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carol Mohamed Ivy; two daughters, Amy Joy Hawkins and her husband Jerry, and Mary Elizabeth Campbell and her husband Rick; one sister, Deborah Burnley Westbrook and her husband Johnny; seven grandchildren, Jake Hawkins, Gray Hawkins, Elizabeth Lishman and her husband Christopher, Carol Ann Nelson, Richard Campbell and his wife Sabrina, Matthew Campbell and his wife Mary Catherine, Lee White and his wife Tanya; and seven great grandchildren, Jack Lishman, Rivers Lishman, Cove Nelson, Allen White, Addie White, Lexi White, Marianna Campbell; three sisters-in-law, Hazel Wilson, Annelle Mohamed, Anita Mohamed; special friend, Johnny Riley and his wife Aggie; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at First Baptist Church, 302 Pecan Street, Belzoni, MS. Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Highway 12, Belzoni, MS. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
