James Thomas Miller, III, of Indianola, passed away December 27th at the age of 43.

He was born in Glen Alan, MS to James (Tommy) and Kathi Miller.  A published author, teacher and musician, James Thomas shared his love of writing, history, humor and music with those around him.  His love of teaching spanned over 15 years.

James Thomas obtained degrees in History and Creative Writing from Mississippi State University, the University of Southern Illinois, and Georgia State.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather James Thomas Miller Sr. of Charleston, MS and his grandparents Leonard and Joyce Yarborough of Merigold.

James Thomas is survived by his parents, James (Tommy) and Kathi Miller; his sister, Kandice (Steven); his niece, Adeline; his nephew, Porter;  and his grandmother, Willie Miller.

He is a beloved treasure to us.

A private family service will be held in Merigold Cemetery in Merigold. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
